Teaching The Process of Making Art For Over 14 years

Since 1994, Artful Journey has been instrumental in guiding our community’s understanding and appreciation of fine arts. Many well known artists have shared their knowledge and techniques at the school, which is committed to continuing our great tradition of instructing and training artists of all ages, with a special emphasis placed on teaching young children and teens. 

Started by an artist, intent on teaching artists and steadfast in holding to its guiding principles, the school is embarking on an atelier philosophy, whereby the language of art and creative expression is taught through the immersion of the practices of drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, craftwork, history and theory. With an emphasis on learning the foundations of fine and performing art we strive to enhance visual thinking as our students engage in the process of creating. The year round offering of fine art and performance classes allow students to learn at their own pace, from artists who are attuned to sharing their artistic beliefs and methods.

Since our inception more than 14 years ago, Artful Journey has offerered the finest quality of art education for students at all levels. We teach students as young as 3 years of age and are continually amazed at how much we learn from them and the other children who grace our classrooms. As Artful Journey continues to expand our contribution to the community, we're proud to announce that we now offer performing arts classes. This is a big step for the school, but one we're ready for. We look forward to offering more visual arts training in the future. 

All classes are set in supportive, lively, funfilled, non-competitive environments that allow students to explore their creativity while providing enough structure to ensure skill development. Every month, the school offers continuous classes, theme camps, workshops, mentor programs, apprenticeships and exhibition programs designed to enhance a students journey through their course of learning at the school. 

At the present time, Artful Journey provides more than 38 opportunities to learn fine and performing arts from a faculty of more than 10 artists. Throughout the year, the school will provide parents, students and the community e-mail updates about classes, theme camps, art shows, events, lectures and other happenings. Artful Journey is located in the Evergreen North Center in a large, comfortable, studio with more than 1,600sf of well-lit classroom space. In addition to our in-studio instruction, since we opened, Artful Journey has also taught art enrichment classes at numerous elementary and middle schools. The student alumni, comprised of individuals who live or grew up in our Rocky Mountain community, totals more than 3,000. We look forward to continuing our long tradition of providing a creative environment as students of all ages and levels continue to take their artful journey at our vibrant school.
